Local Ports View
The local ports view shows every open TCP and UDP port on your Mac, updated every 3 seconds.
View modes:
- Flat list — all ports in a sortable table (Port, Protocol, State, Process, PID)
- Grouped by app — ports organized under the application that owns them
Toolbar controls:
- Toggle between flat and grouped views with the segmented control
- Pause/resume live updates with the pause button
- Filter by port number, app name, or address using the search field
Killing a process:
- Right-click a row (or select it and press Delete)
- Confirm the quit dialog
- Portie sends SIGTERM. If the process doesn’t exit within 3 seconds, you’re offered a Force Quit option (SIGKILL)
Note: Root-owned processes cannot be killed without elevated privileges. Portie will show an alert explaining this.
Remote Port Scanner
- Click Remote Scan in the sidebar
- Enter a hostname or IP address
- Click Scan to scan the top 100 common ports
- Expand Advanced Options to set a custom port range, timeout, or concurrency
